Cathie Janssen is the Visual Art Instructor for the VPA Program at Booker High School. Cathie earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from North Texas State University (now UNT) in Denton, Texas and a Master of Arts in Art Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She is certified in Visual Art, Career and Technology Education, and Business Education.

With a mere 18 years of teaching in the district, Ms. Janssen had a prior career which began in Seattle, Washington working in the international sports apparel field. Her artwork envelops the creation of custom garments through design, patternmaking, and sewing, as well as a body of work in digital portraiture.
