Dance Magnet Audition Requirements

Important! Auditions are only half of your application. An online form must also be completed. This consists of contact information for the student, contact information for recommenders (2), a digital copy of a most recent report card, and statements about the student’s relationship to dance. Learn more here.

The Physical Audition

To be considered for the dance program, students must complete a physical audition consisting of a dance class taught by faculty from the Dance Department.

1. Students should wear appropriate dance attire that allows their body full range of movement.
2. The dance class or classes taken will highlight a variety of styles. One style might not be your preferred style of dance, however full effort and participation should be a priority.
3. Please bring appropriate hair supplies to keep the hair out of the face.
4. Please bring dance shoes if owned: ballet shoes and hip hop shoes.
5. No solo is required.
