Dance

One underlying philosophy is to build creative thinkers, physically active movers, and students who use their love of dance to explore the world they live in. With many performance opportunities, the Dance Department offers opportunities to serve the community through movement and encourages students to explore their own creativity in generating their own works. Whether our dancers desire to continue into the professional dance field or investigate other life interests, the program is designed to cultivate physical technique and creative capacity that can be utilized in any field.

Having built partnerships like The Ringling Museum, the Van Wezel, and The Hermitage, among others, our department continues to offer one-of-a-kind opportunities to our students to work with, interact with and see professionals in many dance fields from all over the world. Our faculty are practicing professionals with connections at colleges, universities and dance companies throughout the country. The department is a perfect place for dancers to explore their own possibilities and expand their potential.
