Courtney Smith Inzalaco’s passion lies in the world of creative arts education, determined to perpetuate its existence via her 5’2” frame. After graduating with a BFA in Dance from the University of Florida, she departed on a dance career that took her around the country performing with several local and national dance companies. A graduate of Booker High School’s Visual and Performing Arts program, Smith Inzalaco chose to return to Sarasota to contribute to the community, entering the realm of teaching through numerous studios, high schools and colleges in the region. Smith Inzalaco also co-founded Moving Ethos Dance Company and co-directed it until 2015.
With her heart clearly in education, she dedicated herself to her alma mater, rounding out over sixteen years of teaching at Booker High School. Smith Inzalaco became the Artistic Director of the Dance Program in 2018, but always knew there was more to come. In 2022, she was accepted into the Teacher Leaders for School Improvement program at the University of Florida where she is working towards her Master’s in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction. She also was honored with being named Sarasota County High School Teacher of the Year for the 2022-2023 school year. Her three children also keep her busy with their joy, energy and constant movement.
