Jeffrey Cornwell
VISUAL ART INSTRUCTOR
Jeffery Cornwell is the Visual Art Instructor for the VPA Program at Booker High School. Jeffrey studied fine art at Ringling College of Art and Design. He apprenticed with Toro Yamamoto and honed his skills freelancing with focus in the drawing media. As a Painter, Jeffery draws his inspiration from the natural environment, more specifically the relation of sky and land. He is an exhibiting painter with his work shown in solo and group shows in galleries and alternative spaces. His work has been represented by galleries in Florida, Georgia, Texas, and on the west coast of the United States and is in private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
As an educator, Jeffery is the coordinator and an instructor at Ringling College’s Summer Teen Studio’s which he has been doing for twenty-nine years. Before coming to Booker High he was an art Instructor for a Montessori school where he designed and implemented a cross-curricular program. At Booker High School a Visual and Performance Arts Magnet Program he is an Adjunct teaching AP Studio Art in our VPA program. Jeffery lives and works in Sarasota, Florida.
